This time I\u2019m writing under my real name. To thank you and to let you know about my book, a love story about the occupation.<\/em><\/p>\n

Dear Readers,<\/p>\n

I want to thank you for the time you dedicate to reading Umm Forat\u2019s blog. I started writing it with some self-consciousness but also with a genuine desire to share. I chose to use a pen name to protect a bit of privacy, even as I expose personal details of our family’s life.<\/p>\n

Now I am revealing my identity. My book, \u201cMaqluba \u2013 Upside Down Love\u201d, is being published in Hebrew by Asia publishers. The book, written as a dialogue in two voices, describes how Osama and I met and fell in love. Today a book blogger in the Israeli daily Haaretz published a favorable review<\/a><\/span> of it.<\/p>\n

I’m publishing the book under my real name: Sari Bashi. So \u2026 nice to meet you. I\u2019ll keep writing the blog under the pen name, \u201cUmm Forat,\u201d and I hope you\u2019ll continue to read it.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaqluba\u201d is in bookstores in Israel and also available to order<\/span><\/a> online, and I\u2019m working on an English translation.<\/p>\n
